That old box of VHS tapes in the closet could hold childhood birthdays, holidays, school plays, family vacations, weddings, or a loved one’s voice. The tapes themselves may look like ordinary plastic rectangles, but what is on them is anything but ordinary.

At Accord Film and Video, your tapes are handled locally in our Coconut Grove office—not sent off on a mystery trip across the country. You can bring them in, talk to a real person, ask questions, and know where your memories are while we work with them.

We transfer more than just standard VHS. Our team works with VHS, VHS-C, MiniDV, Hi8, Video8, Digital8, and other consumer and professional video formats. If you find a tape with a handwritten label, no label at all, or something that looks vaguely familiar but has been sitting in a drawer since 1998, bring it by. We are happy to identify it and explain your options.

Some tapes need a little extra patience. After years in storage, they can become brittle, tangled, moldy, or damaged. They may not play correctly the first time—or at all. We have an experienced technician in-house who can assess difficult tapes and perform repair work when possible. Not every tape can be recovered, but we take the time to evaluate each one carefully and give it the best possible chance.

Once your footage is transferred, you will have digital files that are easier to watch, share, and enjoy with the people who should see them. No digging out an old VCR. No wondering whether that camcorder still works. Just the memories, ready for the next family gathering—or the next time someone says, “I know we have a video of that somewhere.”
